When we were looking to create our new workspace, we knew we needed to partner with a Design & Construction company that would get in our shoes and understand who we are, our story and our vision – the team at Evoke stood out and were the clear winners. I would recommend Evoke specifically because they actually took time to understand what we needed and wanted, and they delivered it in full. I think the way that we’ve seen the staff interact already in their new environment, the smiles, the fun, the expressions of excitement, to me that’s the most important thing because that’s what’s going to sustain the performance of the institute in the long term. I don’t think you can underplay the impacts that this will have on culture.

I think we were really assured every step of the way that what our expectations at the start of the project were going to be met in full by Evoke. We wanted to partner with an organisation that understood what we were trying to achieve with a cultural reinvention, and that’s exactly what Evoke did for us.įriends, on time and in budget springs to mind, that’s always a good thing when you’re working with anybody who is doing large scale projects. They brought vision, imagination and inspiration to our daily lives. We approached Evoke because we wanted to reinvigorate the Tax Institute and make a fantastic home for all of our employees. Brave is frightening (probably too frightening for those under 10 years), fascinating, and quite compelling. When I walked into the finished product, I was struck by the contemporary nature of what it was going to look like and feel like, and I was trying to put myself in the shoes of a member who perhaps had walked into our old building over the last 10 years and suddenly was thinking, ‘Wow, the Tax Institute is on the move, it’s changing.’ At times, the film feels almost Ghibli-esque, especially with its floating wisps, frightening creatures, and the stark conflict between the mystical and traditional. This collaborative Pixar-Disney film features stunning animation, an engaging story, plenty of laughs, effective music, and a one-of-a-kind princess. What eventually becomes clear is that fate lies within, if only one is brave enough to see it. The witch's spell takes a most unexpected form, one that promises to test not only the bond between mother and daughter, but the bonds and bravery of the entire family and kingdom. In the forest, will-o'-the-wisps appear and, since Scottish legend suggests that these unearthly spirits might lead one to his or her destiny, Merida follows them to the house of a strange witch (Julie Walters) who grants her wish to change her mother. An impulsive young woman with impressive archery skills and a no-nonsense attitude, Merida throws her realm into chaos when she disregards the customary procedure for finding a suitor and then disappears into the forest in defiance of her mother's unbending ways. She has little patience with the conservative ideas her mother (Emma Thompson) holds about proper etiquette for girls, and even less tolerance for her kingdom's traditions regarding the marriage of a princess. Is fate really predetermined, or can people change their destiny? Scottish princess Merida (Kelly Macdonald) certainly believes that a teenager should have control over her own life.
